FAQ’s

When was the site created?

Flip Screen officially launched on January 5, 2019. Since then, we have established ourselves as an inclusive platform dedicated to publishing work from new and emerging voices within the world of film and television criticism.

Are your submissions open?

Yes, our submissions are currently open! If you are interested in submitting a pitch then please contact us via our email, flipscreened@gmail.com. You can see our pitching and submissions guide here.

Where is your site based out of?

Flip Screen is an international platform! We’re proud to have an amazing team of staff who live around the globe, and you’re welcome to pitch to us from anywhere in the world.

Can I pitch more than one article?

Yes! Though we may only limit you to one submission each month depending on demand. However, this is not to say you can’t pitch to us again, we’d love to feature more of your work!

How long should it take for my article to get back to me?

It should be back to you no later than a week of its original submission, however it will usually be sent back to you sooner. If there are any issues or delay with your piece, you will be notified by the commissioning editor.

Are you looking for more staff?

At this time, we are currently looking for a few more editors to join our team. We’re also always open for guest contributions to the site!

Do you pay writers?

Unfortunately as a volunteer-run site, we do not have the funds to pay for any contributions to Flip Screen. However, if you would like to help us towards our goal of being able to pay our writers, please feel free to donate to our KoFi page!
